OPTICAL MULTISENSOR WEARABLE SYSTEMS FOR NON-INVASIVE DIAGNOSTICS OF HUMAN FUNCTIONAL STATE

Abstract
A multisensor optical approach to the noninvasive assessment of the functional state of the human microcirculatory–tissue system is presented, combining multichannel diffuse reflectance spectrophotometry in the 410–940 nm range with multivariate data analysis methods into a unified diagnostic workflow.
It is shown that diagnostically relevant information on functional state is contained not in the individual values of isolated physiological parameters, but in the set of interparameter correlations across the entire multidimensional vector of the optical response. The extraction of this information therefore requires a mathematical framework for dimensionality reduction and classification.
