Sensing of various biomarkers with gold and gold-silver luminescent nanoclusters

Abstract
Metal nanoclusters (NCs) have attracted considerable attention as a unique class of nanomaterials owing to their exceptional physicochemical properties and broad range of applications in bioimaging, biosensing, catalysis, and optoelectronics. Unlike larger metal nanoparticles, NCs possess a molecule-like electronic structure with a strong ability for luminescence.
This presentation report on our recent advances in the synthesis and using NCs stabilized by amino acids and DNA for detection of various analytes, including metal ions, proteins, pterins. Particular attention is devoted to the sensing mechanisms of NCs.
