Abstract
What do a molecule and a symphony have in common? Why do some creative "compounds" disintegrate immediately after creation, while others remain stable for centuries? The "longevity" of musical works is examined through the lens of chemical stability. Elements of an interdisciplinary model are proposed, explaining the mechanisms of cultural immortality using principles from the natural sciences.
